Conditions we treat

Behaviour Disorders

Positive behaviour support for aggression, defiance and meltdowns.

Understanding Behaviour Disorders

Persistent aggression, defiance or self-injury usually signals unmet needs: a skill the child does not yet have, an environment that does not fit, or a way of communicating that has worked in the past.

Functional behaviour assessment identifies the driver; therapy teaches replacement skills and gives parents a consistent, non-punitive plan.

Signs to look for

  • Frequent, intense or prolonged meltdowns
  • Aggression towards people or property
  • Deliberate defiance of most instructions
  • Self-injury such as head banging or biting
  • Running away in public
  • School complaints or risk of exclusion
